I’m only about 4 months late to the party with these, and in all actuality I don’t even have the bedrooms or bathroom on here. However, I had to get my butt in gear and start something cooking.
As we started with our first flip house it really pushed my mind into a few different thinking patterns. I clearly cannot sit still. I cannot stop dreaming. I cannot stop wanting more. I have all these ideas just brewing in this busy brain of mine, some seem way out of reach while others I can almost touch. With a few new ventures in the works, we have been waiting to find the perfect Flip House #2 which is sooo close, we haven’t quite found the one that feels right for us though. So …. in the meantime we were lucky enough to get our basement finished. Lord knows we needed more room for those boys that are drinking six gallons of milk a week, wanting their own space, & starting to need deodorant. Little did we know the team that would be helping us KICKED MAJOR BUTT. I have never seen something I visioned come together SO quickly. Not to mention EXACTLY how I wanted it. We wanted to go into the DIY realm of homeowners but in the midst of hockey madness, and in all honesty, we just wanted it done.
We now have our extra space ( and extra toilets to clean ) but we ARE THANKFUL for ALL the people that helped us make this happen!
It all starts with a vision.
And lumber. That sweet smell of fresh lumber.
Ockwig Construction to the rescue.
May I also mention how small this world is. My custom desktop made for me by my childhood bestie’s dad… the woodworking genius Mike Hintz. No joke, there are already stains of Sharpie Lovin’ due to the household’s boss baby. All the more custom right?
When your big brother is the Kick A** boss at the best Granite shop around… you go to him for support, all those options had me going cray. This one. This one here turned out PERFECT. Actually in my design obsessed world, I would say drool worthy.
Navy Cabinets were the final pull and seemed bolder than I have ever felt before. I adjusted my thoughts and altered the design but kept going back to the blues. Carly @ Kitchen Bath’s & More was on it. Every question, ALL of my adjustments. She knew I wanted this project DONE. Girl, YOU. DA. BOMB.
Lastly, there was no concrete we could put our handprints in to remember this moment. This age. This size. So we made our own. These times are the ones I feel like we will never forget, literally how could you forget 2020. I said the same thing about looking at baby pictures & recognizing the boy’s faces. It all slips through my fingers much to quickly so this, this is how we hold our own.
