When my brain started wandering towards the notion of being a “photographer” I never EVER imagined of swaddling so many newborns. In fact, I never thought of even stealing one snuggle. I was focused on weddings & outdoor family shoots.
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage.
It was a no brainer. My lovely little clients would get married & then come back to visit in a year or so with a sweet 10 day old baby ready for more images.
So I looked into it, started working on learning the skill. I’ll never forget a workshop I attended where they frowned upon the idea of doing both newborn & family sessions at the same time. So my virgin photographer brain thought that’s what I must do.
Boy was I wrong. For her that was HER thing. That WORKED. For me, THIS WORKS. I don’t promise a smooth skin, glossy eyed, everybody smiling at the camera PORTRAIT.
Nope not for one moment do I even entertain that thought.
What I do promise is life documented. Moments frozen in time forever. A reminder of those ten teeny tiny toes & the blocks that smoked baby Shep in the head the particular sunshiney morning.
